Take Flight with Kingwood Junior Prep

A Different Kind of Middle School

At Kingwood Junior Prep, we believe middle school should be a time for curiosity, confidence, and growth.

Our school utilizes K12 Learning Academy's accredited curriculum, and our mission is to provide students with a TEKS-aligned curriculum that balances strong academics with meaningful community connections. By combining technology-driven instruction with enrichment opportunities in and around Kingwood, our students acquire the skills, knowledge, and experiences necessary to succeed in high school and beyond.

Flexibility and Support

Our community-based virtual school allows students to learn at their own pace while staying connected through workshops, service projects, field trips, and virtual clubs.

Local Connection

Rooted in the Kingwood area, we proudly serve families in Kingwood, Humble, Atascocita, and Huffman. Through partnerships with local organizations, we create learning experiences that tie students directly to their community.

Built for Families Like Yours

Kingwood Junior Prep was founded by educators and community leaders who recognized the need for a different type of middle school experience. We are committed to preparing students not only for the academic challenges of high school, but also for life as thoughtful, confident members of their community.

As a private, mostly virtual middle school, we offer the flexibility of virtual education along with social engagement and learning opportunities that students wouldn't otherwise enjoy. Students can join in-person field trips, STEM workshops, and community service projects. These experiences set us apart from both public schools and traditional homeschool programs.

A Homeschool Alternative That Works

For many families, homeschooling offers flexibility but presents challenges in terms of accreditation, structure, and socialization.

KJP provides a homeschool alternative that is both structured and recognized, ensuring your student’s credits transfer and that they are fully prepared for high school. At the same time, our weekly meet-ups give essential support to learning coaches (parents) and our extracurricular activities and community events provide students with the friendships and connections they may miss in a homeschool or co-op setting.
